About the Author

Jesse A. Crouch is a barber, entrepreneur, real estate professional, massage practitioner, creator, and community storyteller from California’s Central Valley.

His life and work have moved through business ownership, fatherhood, recovery, grief, health, reinvention, and the continuing practice of choosing identity from within. For more than two decades, his barber chair has been a place where people are not only served but heard.

He created The I Am as a revision-focused journaling tool and continues developing projects that help ordinary people recognize the value of their stories. His guiding belief is simple: pain does not have to be wasted. When it is met with awareness, compassion, and purpose, it can become a light for someone else.
